An acquaintance of mine is taking an unusual route with his ‘30 Ford. M70 V12 and a 6 speed.

We’re definitely gonna need regular updates on this.

I’ll do my best, he’s pretty sporadic with his projects, and has like 5 on the go, so we’ll see...

That is just the type of lunacy we need more of around here. 100% oppo approved.
Curious, what transmission is he using and did it bolt up or require a custom bell housing/adapter?

And a ride in it, once it’s done.

That is utter lunacy and completely out of character for the car.

I’m wondering that too, he just told me 6 speed and didn’t elaborate. When I know more/he gets farther along with it, I’ll update

That’s a cleverly positioned tire.
For a second there, I thought those parts were connected. :)

Excellently impractical. And to be encouraged.
Dunno how he’s going to be able to see over those headers though...

Most likely a Getrag 560g from an 850ci, but that’s one rare gearbox. Maybe he found something else with a similar bolt pattern. You can apparently buy a remanned unit from BMW but that is quite a price tag. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-bmw-parts/rmfd-trans-man/23001222285~kt/
